How we met - Mayowa's story
So
he started to like my pictures a lot on instagram and I sought him out
(out of curiosity and my God he was the cutest ), I initially ignored
but his face didn't leave my mind. I totally did all I could to blank
him but it just won't go away but I continued to ignore anyway.
A
few weeks later he was on my page again disturbing my timeline with
likes so I decided to follow back and send a DM requesting for his
number but that was after I looked him up well (people these days are
crazy and you have to be careful right?). The sharp guy sent his numbers
and BlackBerry pin and everything else I didn't ask for. I called
because I needed to clear my head off this man who was clouding my
brains. And that was the best call I ever made because after that, he
became the most important man in my life.
How he proposed - Mayowa's story
Few
days before Roby proposed, we had a major fight which he provoked (now
I think it was deliberate) even though we made up I was still upset a
little but I had to calm down because his birthday was close. I arrived
earlier at his place a day befor his birthday because of the need to put
a few things in place.
On his birthday - August
14, he wouldn't just stay in a place and always had to step out, I
figured that he had a club, cinema hosting and a few social activities,
so his movements were justifiable. We later went to the cinema where he
was being hosted, was really fagged out after we had finished watching a
movie and needed to get some rest before the party.
Roby
insisted he wanted us to be at a hotel though I didn't see the need fot
that but i chose not to argue. Somehow he made me leave his friend's
car while he was in another friend's car and his cousin drove Roby's
car. We were all hanging out so it didn't matter.
The
first hotel went to was fully booked while the second had just one room
and he didn't like it though I thought it was okay. His friend then
suggested another hotel nearby, by the time we got there, we were told
it was a suite with a living room compartment, which Roby agreed to
take. I opened the door to the living room and headed straight for the
room because I really just wanted to lay down before he changes his
mind. As I opened curtain to d room GBAM!!!! It was right there on d bed
- rose petals designed into the 'Will You Marry Me' words. I ran to the
bathroom cried because not in a million years did I think that will
happen anytime soon and then he pulled me out went on one knee and
popped the 'big' question. His friends were all screaming as they were
all part of the proposal plan, Roby even had a photographer on stand by.
My sister and friends were all part of the plan and the fight we had
days before his birthday was deliberate...now I'm going to cry because I
answered YES with so much joy.
How I proposed - Roby's story
Whenever
I go on my timeline on Instagram, I like pictures...I don't select
pictures I like...I just like! I guess I must've liked Mayowa's pictures
a long time ago and didn't even know(I didn't know she noticed). A few
weeks after that I was on another 'liking spree' and there she was again
on my timeline. This time, I'm sure she said to herself "this guy, this
time I'm not letting u go again" (just kidding!), she quickly followed
back and sent a DM. As a sharp guy, I replied and sent her everything
sendable...my three numbers, blackberry pin, facebook account, twitter
handle, bank statement (lol)... U know wen they say "When u see the
woman that's meant for you, u will know"? That's what happened to me.
Immediately I saw her I told my friend, "Na my wife be dis" and
then...the rest is history.
Mayowa came to Calabar a day before my birthday. Before then, Filmhouse cinema had called me to be the celebrity for their #CelebrityHangout event.
I actually thought of proposing at the cinema but felt it wudnt be
romantic enough as I know quite a number of people who have proposed in
the cinema before. So I planned with my brother and cousin to make
reservations in a hotel while we would be watching the movies. I told
them to buy rose petals and write "Will You Marry Me?"
After
the movie, we went home and I insisted that we spent my birthday night
in a hotel (winks) before we went to the club that was hosting me. We
set out and as planned with my cousin and brother, we checked like two
other hotels before we decided to check the actual one we had planned
for. All this while, she didn't have the slightest idea. On getting to
the hotel, we were told that there's only one room left which was the
suite. I asked her if she wanted to check it out since she liked the
ambience already.... We were showed the room and while we were checking
the small living room, she went into the bedroom...and the rest is
history. Oya...gotta go now,my phone's ringing and she's calling me!
Bye!
